A co worker has a soda blaster, so I ask him to blast a latch for me...I then polished it mildly with my Dremel.
This is the results...I am pleased....It's a cast metal so I don't think it will tarnish..

A while back I repainted a black latch silver. It looked decent, but it chipped.

This is one that Panasonic used only on British Telecom CF18's as far as I know..I never could find a used one...

I scored a Haz Loc strap with the silver catches and leather pad 2 days ago..Waiting for it to arrive from a far away land...It should match up nicely with the LCD latch.
