So my mk5 CF-19 came with an MC7700 aircard and I suppose it came from the factory as such as there is a factory sticker on the bottom with matching IMEI.
However, for the life of me, I can't get get Windows to recognize it. As far as it's concerned, it's not there - not even a ! in Device Manager. Wireless WWAN is set to ENABLE in the BIOS. Is this something to do with that "operation configuration" section?
I swapped the aircards with my old mk3 and both work fine in the mk3 while neither are recognized in the mk5.
Without this I can't even know if my MC7700 is carrier unlocked or anything...

Re: WWAN (MC7700) in mk5
Why do I have to ask for the full model number.....
MC7700 is a carrier specific for AT&T 4G LTE.

Re: WWAN (MC7700) in mk5
Oops, I just broke rule #2.. :p
CF-19AHUARDM
The MC7700 is also the only internal LTE aircard that's approved by Bell, Rogers and Telus here in Canada. But for support you gotta be in the oil patch or have a few hundred devices deployed - the regular-customer data support department doesn't know anything about it.
Here's the latest FW for Canada:

Re: WWAN (MC7700) in mk5
For sure I believe that as it's a GSM native card. Not sure how it works with other providers other than AT&T though.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: WWAN (MC7700) in mk5
Yeah - so I have another MC7700 in my old mk3 that I swapped out - both work fine in my mk3 while neither are seen on the mk5. I also have an extra MC7710 (anyone wanna buy it?) that also works in the mk3 and not in the mk5...
grr.
grr.
Re: WWAN (MC7700) in mk5
Ok... think I fixed it.
Took it from the beginning and took out the card, cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner, put it back in, and voila! The Wireless Switch utility sees it and I can turn it on! Updated the firmware with Canadian-carrier-approved FW and loaded up the latest Watcher... bingo!
