Some models like 31 are offered in dedicated and non-dedicated graphics. Everything isn't listed yet. I am thinking this time home I may do a combined thread for the W,T and Y series for the 2,4,and 5 with in those series. Good overlooked models in my opinion. I have got rid of my W2 and T2 models but only because they were replaced with dual core W5 and T5's. Only real bitch I have about this series is they still use IDE harddrive.

My CF-M34W (Celeron 400Mhz) has an Lynx EM+ 712 4MB video chip (not 710). this 712 also has the FOG abbility.

whats the difference between dedicated vs non-dedicated? whats better?

Non-dedicated means that it has, usually, an Intel graphics chip - run of the mill.
Dedicated means the system has a video sub-system, usually using an ATI or Nvidea graphics chip.
Non-dedicated gives better battery life by you cannot run graphics intensive programs.
Dedicated gives worse battery life, but you can do 3D AutoCad, high end Photoshop, etc.
Which is better depends on what you use the laptop for.

Also you put more strain on the main CPU if you run integrated graphics because then the CPU has to do the job for CPU and GPU. Even if you don't use a dedicated gpu for your applicatons it can help you out some.

A good example would be me messing around with Skyrim. On my Alienware M11x 1.3 core 2 duo, 4gb ram, Dedicated 335M GT. It plays the game fine. On my Mk3 CF-19 with 1.2 core 2 duo, 4gb ram, same chipset as the M11x. When you have a big battle it looks like a slide show.

Also it has it's own ram. It doesn't have to share any of the system ram.

OK cool. So has anyone been able to mod a non-integrated into a CF-30 for instance? This is interesting, thanks for the reply
