More good news!!! So the new server center located in my basement in a dedicated room is almost ready!!! The internet line is here blazing at 80M down and 17M up for the website!! (Right now we only have 10MB up) I have installed 2 dedicated 20 amp circuits for the server and all networking equipment. The server runs on 2 plugs, so this ensures redundancy circuit wide. I also installed a 30A generator circuit which is NOT hooked up quite yet. In the mean time, extension cords work.
I also got my office all wired up with a hard wired battery backup that will also be in the server room.
This entire project cost $325 + $365 for the new router + 2, 18 hour, solid days of work, which isn't bad compared to the builders who wanted $2500. I'm not asking for donations as I've already paid for everything but if you are feeling generous, you know the address.
I am planning to get the server over here very very shortly. I'm thinking late Wednesday or Thursday after I verify that this line is reliable. There will be approximately 4 - 8 hours of downtime overnight and the site won't be available while this happens. The static IP has changed because the location changed. Nothing I can do about that except re-program the DNS to reflect the new IP's
