Cel phone HELP How do you remove MIUI 2.3.30 and ....

#1 Post by toughasnails »

I was checking out a few HTC Nexus one on ebay and ended up buying one.....the wrong one that is  . I was trying to stay away from them custom roms and this one has one. It has the MIUI 2.3.30 ROM and I would like to put Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) back on it. This is what is on my other HTC Nexus One phone. The thing is I am having problems with texting on this phone and my phone company will not help me out because it has this custom rom.
So does anyone knows how to put Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread back on it.

The BIG problem is I bought this phone for my daughter and her birthday is in 4 days :(

Probably a rhetorical question, but have you tried downloading Gingerbread and doing a full restore/upload? There are a ton of videos on you Tube on restoring HTC phones and you can download Gingerbread for your particular phone from HTC. These may seem obvious solutions, but I do not know what you may/may not have already tried. I would think if you wipe the phone and do a complete install it should work.
One CF-52, four CF-18's, 4.5 CF-28's, one CF-29, five CF-M34's, two CF-37's, one CF-P2 and two CF-P1's. There are also two Getac A320T's, one Fieldpac and two IBM Transnotes. Not to mention the AMD 5600 CPU with three monitors and several HP PDA's. Whew! Must quit buying...no, must have MORE! Then there are the weapons...

Ineptocracy: A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

It sure sounds like a good idea but HTC gives no support for this phone because it's called a "Nexus One Google" phone made for Google. If I do a search on HTC site this is what I get " Sorry, we couldn’t find what you’re searching for " and this on there forum "The Nexus One is made by HTC but " for " Google.
Google is making all the backroom deals with carriers "
. I will check out youtube again but when it comes to putting a new rom (as they call it) its all new to me. :pat:

Do you know what phone it is based on? I know they just pretty much rename them sometimes when they swap them for network.

This is the best place to look for phone stuff. Custom roms to stock roms, rooting, tether hacks, etc.
