I still think the touchscreen is failing....Windows may be more forgiving....

I am going to run it with W7 until it dies, then I will change it out. :)

Thanks to everyone for the ideas/suggestions.
CF-29LTQ,CF-31SBM,CF-52youngGUN,

Life's Journey is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn-out shouting 'Woo Hoo! What a ride!

Motorsports - the only real sport. If it doesn't have a motor, it is just a game.

There is always something waiting at the end of the road, if you are not willing to see what it is, you probably shouldn't be out there in the first place.

I had a post or two written and got de-railed as it were, only to come back and see half a message sitting there. Too late, too tired, too lazy I would shut down.

I am interested in your mint numbers from xinput calibrate.

This 74 (lovingly named Crash) I ran the calibrator as a touch and as a tablet. As a touch the numbers are bigger. However the smaller numbers are way small.......identifying the bad circuit/trace.

Point being calibrator will tell you which trace is bad.
Fair for you/ Fair for me.

Here is my 99-calibration.conf:

Code: Select all

Section "InputClass"
	Identifier	"calibration"
MatchProduct	"Fujitsu Component USB Touch Panel"
	Option	"Calibration"	"235 3911 306 4017"
	Option	"SwapAxes"	"0"
	Option "EmulateThirdButton" "1"
	Option "EmulateThirdButtonMoveThreshold" "50"
EndSection
I will fire up the 29MK4, with a very good working TS, and see how the numbers compare.

And here is the 99-calibration.conf from the 29MK4 running MX-14:

Code: Select all

Section "InputClass"
	Identifier	"calibration"
	MatchProduct	"LBPS/2 Fujitsu Lifebook TouchScreen"
	Option	"Calibration"	"272 3984 316 3854"
	Option "EmulateThirdButton" "1"
	Option "EmulateThirdButtonMoveThreshold" "50"
EndSection
The numbers look close to me.

How about setting bios to "touchscreen" and checking those numbers.

CF-74 This is a known bad screen on a burnt lcd. Good ol' Crash. The bottom x's won't work with a stylus so I used the touchpad.

Doing dynamic recalibration:
Setting calibration data: 57, 16366, 16, 16356
--> Making the calibration permanent <--
copy the snippet below into '/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf' (/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ in some distro's)
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "calibration"
MatchProduct "Fujitsu Component USB Touch Panel"
Option "Calibration" "57 16366 16 16356"
Option "SwapAxes" "0"

Just an obvious sample....nothing more.
Fair for you/ Fair for me.

I set the BIOS to 'Touchscreen' and then ran the calibrator. Here are the numbers:

Code: Select all

Section "InputClass"
	Identifier	"calibration"
MatchProduct	"Fujitsu Component USB Touch Panel"
	Option	"Calibration"	"2563 4547 2874 4572"
	Option	"SwapAxes"	"0"
EndSection
Even though it completed the calibration, the cursor goes to the bottom right corner of the screen. During calibration there were many 'mis-click' errors with the cursor going to the right side of the screen before it completed.

I installed Makulu, xinput calibrator and here are the numbers:

Code: Select all

Section "InputClass"
	Identifier	"calibration"
MatchProduct	"Fujitsu Component USB Touch Panel"
	Option	"Calibration"	"246 3907 314 4043"
	Option	"SwapAxes"	"0"
	Option "EmulateThirdButton" "1"
	Option "EmulateThirdButtonMoveThreshold" "50"
EndSection
They all look normal, except when set to 'Touchscreen' in BIOS.
I will have to use Makulu some before I decide if the TS works better, worse or the same as in Mint, first impressions....it might be working a bit better (less pressure before cursor moves).

Curiosity only on TS. Tablet numbers look pretty good.

Have you played with threshold numbers at all....the 50?

My CF-31 matches pretty close the numbers you had w/TS. It prefers tablet.

I have a bad mobo CF-30 MK3. :D
Fair for you/ Fair for me.
