Cf-30FQSAXAE-BP, GPS Problem

#1 Post by Waldeck »

My CF-30 arrived today. Looks very nice and clean, no wear marks, scratches or dings, sweet :clapping:. GPS does not show up in the BIOS, there is a yellow question mark warning in the device manager saying; PCI Data Acquistion and Signal Processing Controler, no driver. When I go into the self diagnostics, ctrl&F10 at start up the GPS square is there but it is switched off. Don't think they used the correct recovery disc's!!!!! :damnit: Haven't tested touchscreen yet. Will need those recovery disc's Rob. Are they XP SP3? Thanks Bob.

Yeah, I re-imaged ALL of these models that I bought, so I guess I didn't check the default image... (and I bought 41 of them and will buy more soon)

Make sure that GPS is enabled in the BIOS too! It is there! It's under Advanced and under "serial something something"

It IS disabled by default in the BIOS!

Okay found the GPS where you said and Enabled it, the GPS is now on in the self diagnostic screen. But the curser just flies around the screen when I move the mouse or touchpad. Think I heared about this some were else. Any ideas. Bob.

That's cuz XP doesn't support GPS.

Download the GPS fix HERE: public_downloads/index.php?dir=GPS%20Registery%20Patch/ - skipenum.reg

Download, install and reboot.

Thanks

P.S, I sent the discs on Tuesday.

I'm very happy, not a mark on it, must have been left on a desktop dock as the power rubber doesn't even seem to have been used much. Thats about to change though as I've got some heavy duty work for it, out in the cold and wet. Makes me want to buy one more thats a bit beat up!!!! Now theres a thought, nar the wife would kill me, again. Bob.

Not sure if I sorted the GPS out as have to get a copy of streets and trips. Tried the method above but had trouble with it, so did this: went to

http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/docs/01 ... &trn_org=2

Downloaded gps-1930-22-d070917.exe

And ran it, in my c:\util2\drivers\gps was a one file, named GPSVista.reg enabled GPS in Bios and the curser no longer jumps about. I'm not sure if I have to some how run the file???

Thanks Bob.
