19 Mk6 SSD upgrade?

#1 Post by User32 »

I have been seduced by the fact that my desktop boots up in a few seconds because of the SSD I have in it, so I want a SSD for my 19.

What one should I get? I was thinking of the Samsung 850 Evo in 256GB, speed isn't a big thing with TBs (SATA2 limited?) and I know that, I just want faster booting and longer battery times on my 19!

Samsung EVO 850 Pro or bust! I have sold hundreds to my non-toughbook clients and boy do they perform!

Thanks!

850 Evo is about 30E more expensive than the non-Evo.. hmm!

Not sure what one to get, I know you said that the Evo is better (and apparently slowdowns a are a huge issue with the Pro?) but 130E is a bit high for a SSD in a thing I only use on the road: https://azerty.nl/8-1990-717681/samsung ... 0-7mm.html

The 850 pro I believe has a 5 yr warranty for the 128GB ones and a 10 year for the 256GB ones which is why they are more $

Thanks!

Ended up putting a SanDisk one from my desktop in my 19, and upgrading my desktop to a Kingston UV400, which works fine so far. Man, the SATA2 bus in TBs really is a huge bottleneck IMO!

Thanks for the info though, Rob.
