CF-U1 worth it?

#1 Post by WittgensteinSergeant »

Considering getting one because it's so damn portable, but is it worth it?

I'm a lucky buy as I have one that I got for free :pbjt:

I have used the strap on the back to attach a rear view mirror that I had spare that I nicked off one in the scrap yard.

I use it to watch Freeview on when hanging around places and also use it for Memory Map when I'm off roading, I'm currently using a USB NMEA GPS Reciever from Maplins however I'm trying to get in touch with Shawn to see if he can knock me an internal one up just like the one he's made me for my CF-19 :clapping:

You can look up my long review.

I have 4 units right now, one is a Mk2, I am working on getting the parts to fix it. I may even part out one of my Mk1's to upgrade it to a Mk2. the only thing that hurts it performance big time is the ram and storage size. You can up the storage with a SD card though, also a Mk2 has 2gb of ram, not just the one my review of it has. My first one has 2d/3d scanner and GPS, Second one is just the base model, Third one has a dock, dual cameras, gps, wwan, and the Mk2 I haven't really looked to see what all it has, screen is busted on it but I can get into the bios and look at it.
