SSDs run twice as hot as HHDs?

In today's article in ZDNet they report high-end SSD's use up to twice as much current as comparable HDDs - with an accompanying significant increase in operating temperatures. FYI http://www.zdnet.com/power-hungry-ssds-hotter-than-disks-7000032021/?s_cid=e539&ttag=e539&ftag=TRE17cfd61 I fix...

Re: confused

WYRM73 -- thanks for your service!

Not much experience with 52s, but have some parts/components for a Cf-30. If I can be of any help, don't hesitate to ask.

Be careful over there.

Re: The future looks good for the server center and TBT!

I was suggesting the list come from you of what you'd like me to look out for. The only thing they had today was a couple of dozen blade servers (without any manufacturer, etc. markings!) for $30 each and a few 6' rack cabinets with mounting hrdware for the blades for $10 each.

Re: The future looks good for the server center and TBT!

Rob. I live a few minutes from the surplus property disposal warehouse for Wisconsin. They regularly have surplus network stuff - blade servers by the dozen for $25 each, etc. If you have a "shopping list" of things you need/would like, send it (and max. price) and I'll keep an eye out for...

Re: Infocase SlingCarrying case for CF-30 and Cf-31

Thanks!

Got the one for the CF-31 and, yes, it is just enough bigger to make it a perfect fit. Found mine on eBay, new, for $27!

Infocase SlingCarrying case for CF-30 and Cf-31

Panasonic makes a sling type carrying case that they specify is for the Cf-30 -- and another that they specify as being for the CF-31. Has anyone compared the two? I had a model 30 case for my mk1 Cf-30 that was useful, but fit a bit tight. I broke one of the plastic clasps and wouldn't mind replaci...

Re: mk3 and gps

I have a CF-30 Mk3 with Win7 that doesn't have GPS and a Mk1 parts-machine that does. So I can... 1. Move the factory GPS from the Mk1 to the Mk3. 2. Purchase an after-market one on eBay from "custom-toughbooks" ( GPS Kit for Panasonic Toughbook CF 30 Aftermarket DIY Ublox 6 | eBay ) 3. Pu...

Re: bios password

Does anyone know of a program that prints out the settings for BIOS - no changing, read only? Actually, most BIOS locked units are still pretty useful computers since you really don't need to change settings in BIOS that often - if at all. For example, the WIN 7/Accessories/System Tools/System Infor...
