Turns out that they fibbed me when they said you could not hook directly to the Ethernet port,did that and ran thru the sharing permissions and it works. It is it's own network only accessible thru the desktop with the seagate OS software so everything is groovy.

Won't work Bill,the Nas has to be plugged into the router and that's in the house. There is no way to access the NAS operating system that I know of except off the router wirelessly to my desktop.
