Since it is obvious that someone has been into the screen area, I would reopen it and check the wiring to the screen. It is possible that they did not hook everything back up. Kinda looks like a FrankenBook.

Too bad you didn't have the other one to swap out boards temporarily to see what happens. Eventually I will get me a CF-52.

Found some info for you. Seems the CF-52 has a seperate tiny board just for the BIOS chip. I got two files for training service techs from Panasonic.
