Tomcat, go for the cpu upgrade, these old cf-51's(core duo/core2duo) have been a load of fun to upgrade, simple to work on and have been relatively inexpensive and a big bang for the buck. I have a couple with the 256mb video ram and just upgraded to do it. Really can't say the picture is better but...

Did you get the windows 7 off fleabay or go with windows upgrade online. I've never removed the CMOS battery to see if it would reset the hours in the bios upon booting or never had the desire to do so.
