Re: Can I replace my internal pro wireless card in my CF-29E MK1
Battery life does not seem to be adversely effected. The WiFi spec gives a station information on the Received Signal Strength at the far end of the link, and using this, the station will reduce output power automatically to use the least necessary to maintain a solid connection. This means that the...

Sure can. I put the EnGenius 600mw cards in both my 29 and my 18.

For those of you running EnGenius wifi cards
I've put the EnGenus 8602+S cards in both my CF-18 and CF-29, and I've been looking around for some more up-to-date drivers, as the ones provided by EnGenius are very old, and have some known security issues. While I was at it, I also wanted to find a driver that would allow me to actually control t...

Mk2 WiFi antennas
anyone know if the wifi antennas in a Mk 2 will work at 5GHz? I've got an EnGenius 8602+S that I'm about to put in, and I'm wondering if I'm going to burn the PA (if you can call 600mw a PA) in the card if I run it at 5GHz.

WTB: CF-VDL02 sunscreen, VKB??
I'm looking for a couple of things to round out my mobile install: 1. Sun shade for a CF-VDL02 - the plastic (i believe it's plastic, I've never actually had one in my hands) visor that attaches to the top of the display 2. CF-VKB0? not too picky about the exact version. Would like to find one with ...

Re: Loading Ubuntu Linux on a CF-18
Thanks for the info. I'm going to be trying to get it working on my 29 soon, and it's really nice to have a starting point. You might try the Hotkey stuff for the 18 on your 29. I know it works on a 27 and 28 (and was origonally written for yet another model), so it may work fine on a 29.

Re: Neat firefox tricks
There's a setting under tools->grab and drag preferences on the Gestures tab called Time Limit. I have to set this to a bit longer to get the flicks to work reliably on my 18, the same thing may work for you
