If i remember right when they made a digitizer model they deleted the external serial port because that was used internally for the digitizer pen. And I think it can't be modded back in. When NBR went down we got a overhaul on the Forum here, then 4 other new Forums popped up. Out of those 4 only one is left online. They aren't as big as NBR but they are a lot of NBR family. That metal strap with a screw is just there to secure the sims card slot. Are you sure you have it turned on in bios after install? There was a lot of stuff "lost" when the NBR Forum shut down, if you have time they did make a backup of it before it was fully closed.

I didn't realize they had a "sticker" on the touchpad of the Lenovo. Sounds like a good idea though.
