Re: Why is it..........?
I was nearly tased for that once. Nearly whacked the idiot over the head with the toughbook when he put away the taser...

Re: Itronix GD8200
I got the model number CF-191G50DE from the seller. Unless i'm reading the breakdown wrong it should only be WWAN ready.User32 wrote: AFAIK the GPS only changed with the Mk2 and the Mk8 (Mk2 Sony became Leadtek and with the Mk8 it became uBlox)
Also, i'm quite sure that 19 already has WWAN in it!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Panasonic-Toughbook-CF-19-GPS-Kit-fur-MK1-MK2-MK3-/201811531577? Emissive is trash waterproofing wise, don't go for it. I have a Sierra Wireless Gobi 2000 mPCIe module that's yours for postage. I don't like WWAN or GSM networks in general due to the possibility of spying. I ...

Don't. Buy this 19 Mk6 on eBay UK instead: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GREAT-DEAL-PANASONIC-CF-19-TOUGBOOK-8GB-RAM-128GB-SSD-TOUCHSCREEN-MK6-B-/282429199852 Mk5's for 350 GBP are a rip off. Mk6's on the other hand not so much. Just pulled the trigger on that MK6. Now to find GPS, emissive and ...

Re: Itronix GD8200
I think i'm just gonna go with a semi-local (UK) Toughbook CF-19 MK5. The price is basically the same. I foolishly assumed the GD had a higher res screen than the crappy XGA in the CF-19. Turns out that is not the case. From what I understand the performance difference isn't that drastic, and i feel...

Re: Itronix GD8200
Nice 2nd gen i7 cookie! Not as good as a CF-31 IMHO though! Since GD has folded their rugged laptop division it will be VERY VERY hard to get parts for these so keep that in mind! Why not snag this for a tad more? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Panasonic-Toughbook-CF-31-Intel-Core-i5-M520-2-40GHz-/1224368...

Itronix GD8200
As my CF30 still rests att the bottom of a lake, and my CF-29 is well past its prime, its time to nab so.ething rugged to replace them.
Been looking at the GD8200 on ebay, looks like a solid rig for 300 bucks. Whats the verdict on these? Do they get the job done? Special issues?
Thanks

Re: Need to go!
I could take a CF-37 off your hands, if the shipping to sweden isn't too horrible. Got one of those in the machine shop. Might be good idea to grab the opportunity for a replacement in case it dies someday.
