Re: The PIFT (pay it forward) Thread!

Alex, why do I get this funny feeling that only the geezers understand what "paying it forward" truly mean? Many a times, the younglings I interact with don't even know of such a term! [sheessh.... what do they teach in school these days??!!] Teo, have you been traveling or what? Regards, ...

OOooo.... I like what I see!! :D Did you use a chip extractor to remove the Dell's T7200 processor or does the socket uses a ZIF latch? Sorry, I've not taken apart my 51 yet, so I'm guessing mostly.

Re: CF-51 Intel Core Duo 1.66MHz to a Intel Core 2 Duo T7500

Blair,
IIRC, I think we both have the same 51s (CF-51RCLDFBM). Am curious though... how will the BIOS take to the new CPU? I ran CPU-Z and it reported;
Intel Core Duo T2300E
Codename : Yonah
T2300 @ 1.66GHz
Socket 479 mPGA (0x5)

Re: CF-18 keyboard & memory upgrades.

Just wondering if the 18's rubber KB is as bad to type on as those 27/28's. Had one on the 27 but replaced it with a regular chicklet.

Re: Ohhhh YUM!

Rob, what's your take on these raptors compared to mainstream SATA2 7.2Krpm HDDs and how are they implemented? Raid 0 or 1 and installed onto which m/board? Months ago, I bought a pair of used/tested-good VelociRaptor 80GB (WD800HLFS - OEM) and it's still on my shelf since I didn't have any m/board ...

BTW, that 'chair' is ergonomically wrong!! Do yourself a favor, save on chiropractic therapy and send it my way!

Re: Keyboard Problems.....maybe ??

Blair, There wasn't anything wrong with your eyesight and nope, the NUMLOCK isn't in the BIOS either. I stand corrected. However, you might want to try booting from a "live CD", be it Ubuntu or any of the distros, or even a WinXP live CD that permits a RAM-residing OS independent from that...

CF-50 & CF-51 screen interchangeable??

Hi all, I have a non-boot CF-50JAKUJZZ (mk1, I think) with known good screen and was wondering if the whole works (screen, lid, inverter, ribbon cables, etc) can be swapped out and fitted to a CF-51mk2 (CF-51JFVDCBM). Did a side by side comparison, measured with tape... seems to be the same size but...
