FS/FT: Sierra Wireless MC7710 aircard (T-Mobile, UK)
Carrier and BIOS unlocked, MC7710. That means yes you can use this in your Toughbook. :) Use on T-Mobile or other non-NA carriers. You're buying the card only - for Toughbooks that need sleds, you'll need to buy those separately. But, IIRC, all CF-19's are WWAN ready out of the box. If you unscrew t...

Re: Combining a headset, your phone and your Toughbook!
I've been trying to get PBX in a Box running under ESXi to a few VoIP phones I picked up... the 7970 is the prettiest but for the life of me I can't get the damn thing to register.

Re: WWAN (MC7700) in mk5
Ok... think I fixed it.
Took it from the beginning and took out the card, cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner, put it back in, and voila! The Wireless Switch utility sees it and I can turn it on! Updated the firmware with Canadian-carrier-approved FW and loaded up the latest Watcher... bingo!

Re: WWAN (MC7700) in mk5
Yeah - so I have another MC7700 in my old mk3 that I swapped out - both work fine in my mk3 while neither are seen on the mk5. I also have an extra MC7710 (anyone wanna buy it?) that also works in the mk3 and not in the mk5...

Re: WWAN (MC7700) in mk5
Oops, I just broke rule #2.. :p CF-19AHUARDM The MC7700 is also the only internal LTE aircard that's approved by Bell, Rogers and Telus here in Canada. But for support you gotta be in the oil patch or have a few hundred devices deployed - the regular-customer data support department doesn't know any...

WWAN (MC7700) in mk5
So my mk5 CF-19 came with an MC7700 aircard and I suppose it came from the factory as such as there is a factory sticker on the bottom with matching IMEI. However, for the life of me, I can't get get Windows to recognize it. As far as it's concerned, it's not there - not even a ! in Device Manager. ...

Re: CF-19 mk5/3 displays and dock question
It's more of a theft deterrent/simple recovery. Kinda like cars, if someone really wants it, they'll take it from you no matter what.

Re: CF-19 mk5/3 displays and dock question
Absolute is for LoJack for Laptops. It's an embedded serial in the BIOS (I think) because on activation, even if you change the hard drive, the system is still supposedly able to communicate with the Absolute servers to locate your stolen laptop. I had it for my CF-30 and previous CF-19. Not sure if...

Re: CF-19 mk5/3 displays and dock question
ALL CF-19's are suppose to be WWAN / WIFI ready from the factory. Meaning they have all the antennas needed, even if it is a federal model. Really! Hmm.. so all they did was take out the WiFi/WWAN cards for federal? wierd - i thought they'd make it harder to put unauthorized cards in! But I'm still...

Re: CF-19 mk5/3 displays and dock question
If I remember right the wings were a USA ONLY requirement. .. hmm. That makes sense this this mk5 is a Canadian unit. Could someone with full-length wings take off the left cover (four screws) and let us know what antennas are underneath? Mine's labelled WLAN for the bottom and WWAN for the top wit...
