Panasonic FTP link
Just discovered a link to the Panasonic FTP site and it is browseable without credentials by opening your friendly FTP software and entering ftp.panasonic.com. Lots of stuff there, even comic books, but doesn't seem to be for software, but there is a lot there so maybe just wasn't there for the stuf...

Important Software Installation Notice: CF-C2, CF-AX and CF-SX
I've been going through eBay and every image I've seen of a CF-C2 is an older EC revision, so I'm guessing a lot of people never installed this EC update that dealt with some serious battery fire problem, or something, and it doesn't show up in the Panasonic update search page. https://na.panasonic....

Re: CF-C2 not recognizing new memory
Yep, definitely problem with the motherboard. I pulled apart an old USFF desktop and replaced the memory with my 4GB "upgrade" SODIMM and when I run dmidecode, it reports the empty slot as Form Factor: SODIMM, but the CF-C2 reports the upgrade slot, whether empty or occupied, as DIMM (the ...

Re: CF-C2 not recognizing new memory
Yeah, at this point the only thing I can think of is some large customer had some customization Panasonic provided that prevented adding a stick of memory, or there is some hardware problem. Initially I was still waiting for the AC adapter, so since that arrived I ran the BIOS memory diagnostics too...

Re: New CF-51 project for me.
Yeah, lack of SSD is the reason I sold my old CF-51. It really makes computers too slow, lol. I even had the T7600 in it and used it as my "coffee table laptop", but frankly a tablet does just as well for that kind of browsing.

Re: CF-C2 not recognizing new memory
Okay, so turns out that somebody may have installed some Battery Diagnostic / Control Program update that doesn't appear in the normal searches. You have to do some digging and the memo for CF-C2 on this page includes the link to the download page: https://www.pjr.com/industry-updates (Obviously a c...

Re: CF-C2 not recognizing new memory
Also peculiar, I ran the memory testing tool from the Linux Mint install disk, and it reports two 4GB sticks of RAM, correct sizes, brand everything.

Re: CF-C2 not recognizing new memory
The installed version of the BIOS is V2.00L15, not the latest. The installed version of the EC is V2.00L16, but this is a head-scratcher because the latest version available from Panasonic is V2.00L13 [1]. [1] https://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/docs/063225?dc%5B%5D=002003&no=5&p1=196&p2=19...
