Re: Windows 7 on a 29 mk1?

Pretty sure I ended up with generic drivers too. No Aero with those, but otherwise seems to work OK. I have it on a mk1 too. One USB port and 1.25 GB RAM I think.

Re: New member looking for help and info

Sometimes you can make the touchscreen work by folding the gummy edge of a sticky note inside out and use it to sweep out the inside edges of the screen. Almost always what messes them up is dirt around the four edges. Sometimes you luck out and can clean the crud out, sometimes not. Worth a try. I ...

Re: Windows 7 on a 29 mk1?

gosh did you scroll down a few threads where there are detailed instructions for installing Windows 7 on a CF-29? http://toughbooktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1290 works fine on a MK1 but only one USB port on that version 1.5GB RAM highly recommended for any Win 7 installations. not sure the MK1...

part number for CF-29 internal mic connector?

Anyone have any idea what the part number would be for the little 3 pin internal mic connector in the CF-29? (I think it was CN23 inside) I saw the thread where an internal electret mic was added. I want to add one to mine, I have an app that could really benefit from that. I have the mic elements, ...

Re: Recommendations on OS

restore disks available on eBay for around $40 do you have a COA on the bottom for XP? that may mean you don't have to pay again and just find an XP Pro SP2 disk from someone, load it up, use your COA and then download the drivers from the panasonic web site (free) that's the cheapest route - $0 if ...

No, not yet. I'll give it a whirl.

Do you mean a DVD movie, or a browser imbedded video or streaming like Netflix?

I start checking out that type of thing. So far I have not.

Windows 8 (pre release) running fine on CF-29

OK this may border on the absurd, but I have Windows 8 running on a CF-29 and it also works pretty darned good. I basically followed my Windows 7 procedure to get the drivers and Panasonic apps working. Everything worked, including the hotkey driver, except the video driver. However, the generic win...

Re: New ToughBook Owner and New to the Forums- Need Some Hel

Windows 7 works fine on the CF-29, but you have a few other issues that I would work through first before doing anything else. Particularly the USB problem - that is a show stopper especially on a MK3 that has only one port. There are deals to be had on MK4's out there - less than $100 for a working...

Quick and dirty CF-29 handle fix

I found a pretty quick and dirty way to fix the handle that has worn to where it does not snap in place when nested. I read of several different approaches, learning that it was the slight oversize of the lugs that makes it snap in place. So I took my handle apart while on the toughbook with a right...
