Update from NBR forum.... I've restored to about two weeks ago. I've started to boot more reliably into the BIOS. I've disabled USB boot devices in BIOS and reset the rest of the BIOS to defaults. I have booted with all devices removed with the same results. I thought i might have had a bad ram stic...

I'm trying a system restore in a wild hope that will do something.
Something is clearly wrong with the chipset usb controller side of things. Coming out of sleep I get at least 10 connect/disconnect usb bonks.... If this doesn't work I'll wait for a OEM restore disk.

How many IDE/ATA SATA channels should I have in device manger?
I'm showing:
ATA Channel 0 TWICE
then 1 thru 5
Then the ACHI Intel driver from Panasonic
and
Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller

I have done the following. REMOVE ALL OF THE DEVICES: Battery DVD WIFI Fingerprint/Card Read Hard Drive I have tried disabling and or reinstalling those devices in device manager. I've force re-installed the ACHI/Chipset driver from Panasonic no difference in behavior. Without the HD it never boots,...
