Re: Topo Mapping Software for OEM GPS
The folks over at OpenStreetMap seem to rely on their very own JOSM application for Windows / Linux / Mac. Be aware that it is "by geeks for geeks", e.g. it scales to planet-size and offers all the features you'll never need, but you'll need to climb the learning curve, including howto se...

Re: Topo Mapping Software for OEM GPS
There are multiple OEM gps devices. Which one are you using? Both my cf19s (mk3,mk6) contain Leadtek LR9548S, which speak NMEA on com3 with 4800baud. Are you able to use the GPS with other tools, e.g. "GPS viewer"? Is your GPS enabled in BIOS? Did you check if some other application (e.g....

Topo Mapping Software for OEM GPS
I just got my mark4, love this TB!
My question is what Topo Mapping software is there that will work with the OEM GPS. I have been dinking around with TopoFusion, however I cannot seem to get it to recognize the OEM GPS. Any suggestions.

Re: Upgrading to a CF-31 and I need some input on these.
Thanks for the info. I am still going to get a CF-31, but I am going to hold off a couple of months. I did find a CF-19MK4 low hours (130 to be exact, seen the bios screenshot) with all the features minus a digitized screen, for 325$ from a company who lease them out. It only has 4GB of ram and win7 ...

Re: Upgrading to a CF-31 and I need some input on these.
Actually the color does not matter. The zero hours is what peaked my interest, not the color, hell it is a brand new machine! My biggest thought on this is, I cannot get the drivers for XP anymore on some of the radio stuff I have. I was thinking on just upgrading the OS, however my CF-29 MK V canno...

Re: Good News but now some more questions..Lol
Ok, another couple of questions arise now. First off with the GPS how does this work, i.e. cellular based or is it true GPS (like garmins etc no need for cellular access). I seen this while browsing the other day http://www.panasonictoughbooks.net/toughbook-gps anyone know anything about this GPS, i...

Good News but now some more questions..Lol
Ok, First the good news. I have figured out what was wrong when attempting add my new SSD, it urned out that the xady clips were broken and not allowing the computer to see it 99.8% of the time, I know I finally was able to load Win XP Pro SP3 on to it, until I had to plug it into the router to get ...
