Re: recovery CD to USB stick

Send me a ISO that has been copied sector by sector from the CD, I think I know a way. Give me an address and I can mail the dvd to you. Thanks Shaun, I have the panasonic recovery CD. I though it would be nice to have a USB recovery stick. No big deal, i will just put a good drive in it, temporari...

recovery CD to USB stick

Looks like I have a dead CD drive on a CF-30. Can the Panasonic recovery CD data be transferred to USB stick, for boot?

Thanks Again, Steve C

Re: CF-30K

Wondering why is cool. Maybe this will shed a bit of light. :) The CF-30 MK1 had no "switch" in the bios for tablet v.s. touch. So they did the switching with a different bios. Windows 7 thinks it's a tablet. Vista thought IT was a tablet. XP ran as a Touchscreen and didn't worry about th...

The JP site talks about it for, and offer a new bios, which are different for XP and Vista, CF30 MK1, but nothing for MK3. Just curious!

CF-30K

I have chosen to downgrade from Vista to XP-Pro, the new disk was supplied by Panasonic Toughbook dept in Canada. I now see I may need a new bios, however the install now seems to work fine. I checked the JP site and could only find a bios for MK1. Should I have concerns running the bios on the mach...

Re: Gobi2000/GPS

Well after taking the sled apart, it becomes apparent why the GOBI with GPS really sucks, it has it's own RF cable/Antenna wound up inside the sled. Maybe a second RF connector on the sled, hooked to a decent antenna on the lid would have resulted in a usable GPS. Are they any other uses for the sle...

Gobi2000/GPS

I initially assumed that the GPS signal in my CF-30MK3 was coming from the Gobi2000, but after removing the WWLAN sled it still works, so
it has a factory GPS. I see only one RF cable connector on the sled, so how would one use the Gobi2000 GPS ?

Thanks, Steve
