will either of these programs use regular network to function, I have tethering on my cell which is why I did not worry about wwan card, I would think they would but you never know. I have seen foxtrotgps mentioned here in the linux forum before, just not sure if that is the only one. I will try fox...

will try that and see, not a big deal, I big giant fingers so will probably use the stylus most of the time anyway.

ok did a couple of updates and now both finger and stylus work ok, both sync correctly, so guess fixed itself.

linux gps map software
I have seen several people on here who talk about different gps software and what I am interested in a gps navigation software, land based not marine. I have the list of gps software to get the gps working in linux, just not mapping software, or at least not where to get it (site). thank for help.

interesting issue with toughscreen
My cf-19 mk3 will not let me use my finger for touch, stylus works fine. I do know that my is not a digitizer model. I can use my fingernail just not the pad of my finger. My cf-30 has the opposite issue, not a big deal just not sure how to fix this.

at least for the moment, until I figure out which one I like better for my network business. then I am going to convert the other to just plain debian or mint.

must be my windows/desktop manager. Kali uses gnome mate, this might be the issue with the screen rotation

xev works but does not show the keyboard and rotation button scan codes, I am going to figure out how to get these two buttons working and then figure out what to do with the return button.

how did you figure out that the rotate button was x86rotatewindows. I can see the acpi codes, but my the keyboard and rotate buttons do not show up under xev (key scancode program) at all.
