Odd CF-30 sound

Hello all. I have several CF-30s that have been running Win 10 for over a year (even though Panasonic says the CF-30 is not compatible with Win 10). One recently started making an odd two-tone sound. It sounds like a notification sound and occurs randomly, but the sound is not associated with any Wi...

Re: CF-30 RAM upgrade

Well, I don't have extra RAM sticks laying around, but if I get brave I might try it again using each 4gb stick separately to see if they each will work independently.

Re: CF-30 RAM upgrade

Thanks. I tried both 4gb chips together and each 4gb chip with one of the existing 2gb chips, but I don't think I tried just one of the 4gb chips. Although even if each one singly worked, it would still only be 4gb total RAM. I suppose if either of the new 4gb chips failed to work by itself, it migh...

Re: CF-30 RAM upgrade

I have attached photos of the 2 x 2gb chips in the CF-30 now and the new 2 x 4gb ones I tried to install. I think the problem may be that the current chips are listed at 800 MHz while the new one show 666. Also, one of the new chips appears to be high density (the one with 4 modules on the stick) wh...

Re: CF-30 RAM upgrade

Well, I tried it with 6gb and 8gb and neither worked. In fact, I couldn't even get the screen to turn on. The hard drive light by the touchpad blinked twice and that was it. So I put the 2x 2gb chips back in. I guess 4gb is the best this model will do. :-(

Re: CF-30 RAM upgrade

Well, that's unfortunate. Does that apply to all CF-30s, Mk1, Mk2, and Mk3? I saw some postings that suggest their CF-30 works with 8 GB. Of course, Panasonic says the CF-30 can't run Win 10 either, but I have 3 of them running Win 10 just fine.

CF-30 RAM upgrade

My 64-bit Mk2 CF-30 has 4GB of RAM installed (2x2GB PC2-6400 800MHz CL6 modules). I read somewhere that 64-bit systems could run with a maximum of 8GB RAM, so I'm thinking of swapping them out with 2x4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 800MHz modules. I saw some for sale on eBay but they were listed for Toshiba model...

CF-30 Win 10 and Intel Chipset Family WDDM 1.1

I have several CF-30s that are all running Win 10 (v. 1903) with no problem. However, one of my CF-30s (mk 2, 64-bit) gives me the BSOD and the message KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE whenever it reboots. I've run all the checks (memory, files, etc.) and I think the problem is with the Mobile Intel 4 ...

Re: Intel Dynamic Power Performance Management -- NECESSARY?

Shawn -- Thanks for the reply. But I'm not sure how to disable to Microsoft power management applications and only let the Intel apps run. Additionally, I did run a Bug check analysis, which showed the following info. I think it confirms a problem with the etmdrvmgr.sys driver, but I don't know how ...

Re: Intel Dynamic Power Performance Management -- NECESSARY?

Just to follow-up, I've pretty much exhausted all research avenues for this... I was told that deleting or changing the name of the etmdrvmgr.sys file could corrupt the OS and necessitate a complete reinstall. The only thing I haven't tried yet is running the Intel Dynamic Power Performance Manager ...
