Re: Upgrading cf-31

Thanks Rob.
I have a lot to relearn - haven't used DOS for 17 years. Greater satisfaction when it takes a little effort, now I am surfing with wireless broadband (Telsrta NextG). Your instructions were perfectly correct. :notworthy:

Re: Upgrading cf-31

I finally received the GOBI2000 card along with a GPS card and antennae. I installed them - hopefully I got it right. From looking at Rob's pictures on his public downloads link I saw that rob had the GPS card. But I am not sure about the antennae connections. On the GOBI I put the grey antennae con...

Re: Upgrading cf-31

Thanks Rob and tomcat57 I have ordered the GOBI2000 card from Heartland for $130. Almost can't wait for it to arrive. In conclusion the panny dealers don't really know what they are talking about and spin a lot of crud to customers like me. I have updated to windows 7 64 SP1 and frustratingly still ...

Re: CF-31 Prelim specs and configs

I have installed the Intel 510 250GB SSD with a little help from my neighbor but he/we could not find a driver for the wireless LAN (ABGN) could anyone please provide a link for the right driver? - I did see one for ABG on this forum but not ABGN. The Toughbook is much faster especially when loading...

Re: Upgrading cf-31

The antenna is built into the machine and doesn't retract out of the screen like on the CF-30. Same with the GPS - there is no "hump" that comes out of the right upper corner of the screen. Additionally: You CANNOT just put any WWAN card (IE Sierra Wireless MC5725 or MC5720) into this uni...

Re: Upgrading cf-31

I bought 8GB Kingston Hyperx ram and an intel 510 SSD 250 GB but (my mistake) the voltage for the SSD is 5V where the cf-31 is 3.5V. I saw on a forum where a guy in Japan had installed the same by cutting two of the pins off, I'm not so sure about doing this since the SSD was expensive - any ideas ...
